Golf Cart Use Policy
Twin Lakes Camping Golf Carts
With the expansion of our campground has come a growth in the number of golf carts in use at Twin Lakes Camping. In order to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, we have created this golf cart policy.
Power:
To prevent noise, only electric or 4 stroke (quiet) engines are allowed. In keeping with environment standards, electric is the way of the future.
Insurance
Golf carts must be insured and proof of current insurance must be on file at the office. Most trailer insurance will add coverage for your golf cart at minimal cost.
Registration
All golf carts must be registered with office and must display camper’s lot identification number.
Operation
Golf carts must be in good working condition and are limited to travelling on the park roads. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, they are not allowed on the grass, beaches or walking paths. The operator must have a valid driver’s licence and can not exceed existing speed limits (15kms/hr).
Driving While Intoxicated
Driving a golf cart while intoxicated is just as dangerous for the driver, passengers and bystanders as it is in a car. The same rules apply within the park as they do on public roads. (no open alcohol in the vehicle, no drinking and driving, etc...)
In August of 2009, a man was charged, by the police, with driving while intoxicated after he struck a 5-year-old girl. He was driving a golf cart in a private campground near Ottawa, Ontario.
Contraventions will result in removal of privileges and golfcart from park
