1966-    Dream to build a campground but at this time, property was used for excavation and sale of sand and gravel and the dream was put on hold and property sold.

1986-    Réginald & Aline Guillemette purchased property again, excavating the last of viable gravel forming two lakes.

1987-1992  Long hours of construction from April to October every year. (finishing lakes and putting in infrastructure)

1992-    Open camping business with a beach, 3 lots, public washrooms, laundromat and built the chipstand.

1993-1996  The house and office were constructed, and in the next few years, more lots were added, flowerbeds and  pavingstone walkways around the lake.
 
1997- Waterslide, 220 feet long was purchased, reconditioned and installed.  A train car was also brought in and turned into 4 rental units.  Each one being a housekeeping unit offering a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, a futon which makes into a double bed, a set of bunk beds, a small bathroom and air conditioning.

1999-2000 Roads around the first lake were paved.

2001-2004  Second beach was added &  stone walls, up to 14 feet high and 1400 feet long.
    
2004- The park now consisting of 135 serviced lots, waterslides, beaches, playgrounds, chipstand, train car and house was sold to Dennis and Nicole Wilker.

2005- Under new ownership, many ongoing projects and general upgrades were completed, an application for more property expansion around the second lake commenced.
 
2005- 2007  A big playground was added, the first beach was dug out, we removed weeds and poor material and new sand was put in.  Surveys, planning and much more work had to be done towards the M.O.E. application for expansion to obtain approval.

2008 -    New hydro line and a work shop (30'x50') were constructed.

2009 - Approval for expansion of up to an extra 182 lots.  Construction started immediately for an additional hydro line and sewer system to service up to 70 lots.  22 lots were completed and rented out this first summer.

2010 - 40 lots were now complete and there is demand for more.
   
2011 - New 24' x 30' comfort station featuring 2 bathrooms only, 2 bathroom/showers, a laundromat and utility room was constructed and more lots at the end of the second lake added.

2012 - Start work on converting sand pit to sliding hill and a third recreation beach area for more lots.

Today, Twin Lakes Camping, employs up to 12 people during the summer months. Our property consists of the following:

• 130 acres of fenced recreation area
• including 2 spring fed lakes 1km by 40' deep for use of canoes, kayaks and paddleboats;
• northern pike and perch; 
• 2 beaches; picnic area; 3 playgrounds; 3 small slides for little kids;
• 1 big waterslide (220 feet);
• pavingstone walkway all around first lake;
• tent sites;
• public washrooms and showers; laundromats;
• train car with housekeeping units;
• chipstand; access to 34 kms of nature trails;
• 200 camping sites (3 way hook up) and WIFI

Twin Lakes Camping is known for its family environment, for being clean and quiet, for the beaches, waterslides, playgrounds, bicycling, hiking and all around recreation.  We see more than 40,000 people pass through the gates each summer.  We love the public and our work, it is very satisfying to see parents and the kids having family fun and helping create happy lasting memories.
